Bewitching Blurbs

Hi everyone,

For this Bewitching Blurbs we’re going to the moon and back – well, maybe even a bit farther than that.

Yours to Uncover – ES Siren 1

By Mel Teshco

Is she willing to sacrifice everything to keep her secret and her lover safe?

It's the year 2202. Earth is grossly overpopulated and seriously polluted. Rita Songworth has spent half her twenty-two years trying to escape the dying planet. It's taken the last five of those years to realize making it in the hard-ass infantry is her only way out, via space transporter Earth Ship Siren.

But the journey to Unity, the new colony, isn't easy. Rita has to resist an attraction to hard, brutish prisoner, Tristan MacFallan, whose masterful hands create more than the beautiful art he's been assigned to make. His forbidden touch affects her profoundly and he sees things in her no man ever has before. But obeying Zane, her ex-lover and malicious lieutenant, who is appointed to keeping the prisoners under guard, comes at a high price. Is she willing to sacrifice everything to keep her secret and her lover safe?

Yours to Command – ES Siren 2

By Shona Husk

He would do anything to protect her, if only she'd let him.

Corporal Sienna Jade wasn't given a choice about joining the mission to Unity. Seen as a troublemaker after reporting an assault by a senior officer, the army wanted her gone. Sienna resents the army for assigning her to Earth Ship Siren, and suspects the fleet's Unity mission will fail. But others would do anything to escape Earth ...

Alex Tariel knew his only chance to get a place on ES Siren was as a prisoner, so he stole water rations. As a former construction foreman, his skills make him a valuable prisoner on board, but still a prisoner unable to control his own life. Instead of keeping his head down, he gets involved in the fights set up for gambling privilege tokens, the only currency aboard ship among the prisoners.

Getting patched up by Corporal Jade might be the best thing that's happened to Alex on the trip so far, but becoming her ship husband puts him between her and the lieutenant who tried to kill her for kicks on Earth. While Sienna tries to keep control of her feelings for Alex, Alex would do anything to protect her, if only she'd let him.

As ES Siren faces its first crisis, a little trust and love goes a long way.

Yours To Desire – ES Siren 3

By Denise Rossetti

A man more potent than any drug.

It's 2202 and on board ES Siren, the brilliant Doctor Lily Kwan has worked in secret to develop an antidote for the aphrodisiac rape drug, sexmeth.

She'd be overjoyed if it wasn't for an embarrassing problem: the antidote has no effect on her extraordinary reaction to Connor Madison, the Siren's tough quartermaster. Scientifically, it should be impossible, but the man's a raging fever in her blood. If a single dark glance sets Lily on fire, a kiss might kill her dead – but what a way to go!

A former gang rat from the slums of a dying world, Con came up the hard way, so when geeky Doctor Kwan tops his hit list of possible drug runners, nothing's going to save her—not her family's money, nor her clever mind.

Not even the smile in her eyes.

This is another in S.E. Gilchrist’s fantastic Legends of the Seven Galaxies series.

When Stars Collide

By S.E. Gilchrist

The third full-length novel in SE Gilchrist’s bestselling erotic SF series mixes one sexy spy, a soldier looking for salvation and an unlikely mission to save the world.

Reece, contortionist bubble dancer and part-time spy, has one goal – a safe haven and independent life far from the war.  But her plans go awry and her future becomes dangerously uncertain when she is falsely accused of the murders of her friend and a Darkon traitor. Now her new list of goals includes payback.

In her way is Ulrac, a banished Darkon patroller responsible for incarcerating females for barbaric ‘treatments’ and ‘research’ on the planet Isla. He's determined to use the capture of the spy and her intel to win the approval of his father – a hard-line Traditionalist with his own agenda – and help him overthrow the current ruler of Darkos.

But the war of the Seven Galaxies has reached a critical stage, and personal plans and goals suddenly hold very little meaning. The enemy is poised to unleash a terrible weapon and no one stands between him and total domination of all the universes.

No one – except Reece and Ulrac.

Woo Hoo - Here comes MacKellen's Run!

Hi everyone.

Cue the fireworks.

I can finally tell my news! My rural romance MacKellen’s Run (once called Violet Falls) has been contracted by Allen & Unwin for their Arena imprint. It will be released in May, 2015.

Go on – ask me if I’m excited!

Here’s the blurb –

Years ago, Violet Beckett made the mistake of falling for the wrong MacKellen brother and she paid the price. Now eight years later, fate has brought her back to Violet Falls and the MacKellen’s Run. She knows that Mac MacKellen could be trouble and she should run all the way back to the city, but the look in his eyes makes her want to linger.

Can she trust him, can she trust herself or will she be burned again?

Mac MacKellen has had a soft spot for Violet for longer than he can remember. It almost killed him to have to stand on the sidelines and watch his brother woo her, use her and finally lose her. Now she is back, he has to make her understand that all MacKellens are not the same – this one wants to keep her.

I feel very privileged to be able to bring you Mac and Violet’s story and I hope you love them as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by.

Shhh...

Hi everyone,

Sorry I’ve been quiet all week but I’ve been drowning in revisions. Seriously, I’ve hardly surfaced for air.

I have some absolutely fantastic news but I can’t share it quite yet – which is really difficult as all I want to do is blab. Why won’t I spill the beans? It’s partly because I’m superstitious and believe it’s bad juju to speak of things before everything is signed, seal and delivered. Although, I could hint that it may have something to do with a certain rural romance.

No, that’s it – my lips are sealed... well, at least for now. J

Thanks for stopping by.

An Unsuitable Match
By Sasha Cottman

The Favourite Heiress…

Once engaged to the future Duke of Strathmore, the beautiful Lady Clarice Langham now finds herself in the humiliating position of celebrating his marriage – to another woman.  As a result of the scandal, it seems her reign as London's most eligible debutante has come to an end.  But things begin to look up when handsome and charming rake David Radley makes it clear that, at least as far as he's concerned, she's still the catch of the season.

The Illegitimate Son…

The eldest son of the Duke of Strathmore, David Radley has been raised alongside his father's legitimate children.  But while he is generally received as part of the family, not everyone thinks he should be, and especially not Clarice's father, the Earl of Langham, who forbids her from having anything to do with him.

An Unsuitable Match…

David's been in love with Clarice for years, and it isn't long before the attraction between them develops into something deeper. Yet he senses Clarice is hiding something and until she reveals her secret, she won't be free to follow her heart. Despite everything, David will not give up on Clarice, not even when another seems set to claim her…

Brushing Off the Boss
By Annie Seaton

The one passion they had in common was the one that would keep them apart.

Artist Sienna Sacchi is about to have everything she’s ever dreamed of, when sexy playboy Jack Montgomery comes strolling back into her life as the owner of her gallery. Her plan to buy it herself ruined, she refuses to let him interfere with the most important thing—her debut exhibition. But Jack’s not just taking over her workplace, he’s also intruding on her art studio, her home, and maybe even her heart.

Jack Montgomery has few rules for his carefree life, but never mixing business with pleasure is one he is determined to keep. He’d planned on finally satisfying the tension between him and Sienna, but discovering he’s her boss puts an immediate end to that. Unfortunately, being forced to share a tiny apartment with the gorgeous, tempting sculptor is pushing Jack to his limits. One brush with desire could ruin everything they’ve worked for.

Long Gone Girl
By Amy Rose Bennett
After returning home from the Korean War a widow, former MASH surgical nurse, Ginny Williams, heads to the Jersey Shore for a weekend of much needed R&R. But her plans to do nothing more than relax on the beach go seriously awry when the boy who broke her heart on Prom night nine years ago—the now hotter-than-hot ‘fly-boy’ Jett Kelly—shows up on her patch of sand. To make matters worse, Captain Kelly seems to be on a mission to win her trust, and maybe even her heart again. But the last thing Ginny wants is a man—especially one like Jett—in her life. She’s a career nurse now, and that’s that. If only Jett wasn’t so damned charming and attractive…

US air force pilot, Captain Jefferson ‘Jett’ Kelly Junior is blown away to have stumbled across the beautiful yet shy and bookish girl he used to have a huge crush on in high school—especially now that Ginny is all grown up and sexy as hell. Problem is, she’s also not backward in coming forward when letting him know she hasn’t forgiven him for the Prom-kiss-gone-wrong incident. Even though Jett knows he’ll have his work cut out for him to get a second chance with her, he’s definitely going to give it his best shot…

Despite Ginny’s determination to keep her head—she’s certainly not the naïve girl she used to be—when Jett starts to unashamedly woo her, she soon realizes that maybe her heart didn’t get the memo…

The Bouquet List: a Weddings in Westchester novel
By Barbara DeLeo
He's #5 on her Bouquet List. Tall, dark...and completely forbidden.
After a too-close call with death, Yasmin Katsalos is checking some things off her Bouquet List—things to do after you thought you were going to die. Fun fashion choices? Check. Purple hair and a cute diamond nose stud? Check, check. Now she's on to item #5: a flirty fling with a man who's tall, dark, rich...and totally out of her league.

And restaurateur Lane Griffiths definitely fits the bill.
Lane isn't just out of Yasmin's league. He's also her brother's best friend and therefore off-limits. Now that they're working together on renovations for her family's wedding hall, however, Yasmin has plenty of opportunities to bewitch, bother, and boldly seduce. He's reserved. She's relaxed. The only thing they share is a spark of attraction that's too strong to resist. But is Lane just another item on her bouquet list... or has Yasmin found something on her list that will last?

Though Max is desperate to make amends to Carina for his late grandfather's wrongs, they realize that a fresh torrent of evil might be unleashed. Can they expose their enemies, yet keep their loved ones safe? Because only then will they feel free to be together.

The Lords of Foxwoods Hall

Hi everyone!

Okay, I know I’ve been a little slack with my posts this week. My only excuse is that it’s my birthday and I’m allowed to be a bit bratty. *wink*

I have some awesome news – Capturing Bliss and Seizing Heaven will be paired together in an anthology... in PRINT! Yay! (please insert as many exclamation marks as you like). The anthology will be called The Lords of Foxwoods Hall and will be released in October (add more exclamation marks and some fairy sprinkle dust). Go on, ask me if I’m excited...

I also did my very first radio interview with the lovely Mary Caelsto (the Muse Charmer) on Lifescape Radio. We spent about 50 minutes talking about my books and writing process. Thanks Mary for inviting me and making me feel at ease.

Just as an aside – It’s weird hearing yourself speak... I never knew I sounded like that!

If you’re interested I’ve included a link.

Bewitching Blurbs will be back next week with a whole lot of new and yummy morsels to sink your teeth into.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bewitching Blurbs

Hi everyone!

Here’s this week’s Bewitching Blurbs.

Chieftain by Command
Frances Housden

Gavyn Farquhar’s marriage is forged with a double-edged blade. Along with the Comlyn clan’s lands, a reward from the King, he is blessed with an unwilling bride, Kathryn Comlyn, and an ancient fort with few defences that desperately needs to be fortified before it can act as a sufficient buffer between Scotland and the Norsemen on its northern borders.

Gavyn needs wealth to meet his king’s demands, and he knows of only one way to get it — with his sword. Leaving his prickly bride behind in the hands of trusted advisors, he makes his way to the battlegrounds of France and the money that can be made there.

Two years married and Kathryn is still a virgin. A resentful virgin, certain that, like her father before her, she is perfectly capable of leading the Comlyn clan. In her usurper husband’s absence, she meets the clan’s needs, advising and ruling as well as any man.

But she is an intelligent woman, and she knows the only respect and power she will ever hold will be through her husband. And to wield it, she needs to make him love her. An easy task to set, but impossible to complete, when said husband has been gone for two years, and there is no word of his return. But Kathryn is undeterred. After all, a faint heart never won a Chieftain.

Musing about Projects

Hi everyone,

I’ve spent the week editing, revising and waiting. Waiting to hear if a project has been accepted is always one of the hardest things (at least it is for me). On one hand you want to know if your story has been accepted or rejected so you can rewrite your game plan and move on. But on the other hand there’s that hopeful thought that no news is good news. Anyway I have several projects ‘out there’ so I suppose all I can do is cross my fingers and wait.

To keep myself busy and my mind off the whole thing I’ve started a new series. I have three series that I’m writing and/or juggling at the moment – an Australian rural romance, a medieval fantasy and now a Viking tale.

I tried staying in the moment or in the same world when writing a series but I find I need to jump between projects and time periods. So the first book has been written in the rural series and so has book one in the Hearthfire series (medieval fantasy). If I had been clever I would have finished off book 2 (it’s half done) of the fantasy and then started on the next rural romance. But you see... and there is always a ‘but’ this Viking story got into my head and wouldn’t leave me alone.

The story is flowing so I suppose as the old saying goes I shouldn’t ‘look a gift horse in the mouth’ and just run with it.

The Promise of Winter is the first book in the Season of the Vikings series. The series is about a Viking raid in England which goes wrong (depending on which side your allegiance lies) and how the handful of survivors try to find their way home.

To the writers out there, what are your thoughts? Do you write a whole series until it's done or do you hop between projects?

Thanks for dropping by.
